Vanning

Vanning is a compulsion, an obsession, an occupation, an affliction, a fascination, a fate. It is not a hobby. Those who do it, must. Those who don't, think it's a waste of time. For me it is a calling.

This last week has been quite busy. The weather improving always brings out all the rods and cycles that have been hiding from the cold. I'm not immune to the fever either. The Flying Eagle is waiting for me to finish the filter relocation, and the console/radio addition. I also am planing to redo the paint on the rear of the van. I want to replace the origional eagle graphic that was on the rear. I hope to start on this in the next few weeks. In the meantime I have 2 sets of bike parts to paint, along with several other vehicles. Here's some of them.

I learned this one from Ed....lol

Been finishing up a couple projects that have been sitting around for awhile. Two projects that Ive been wanting to finish for Ilene Roth. A cabinet for her bathroom and a panel that has been waiting on me for a couple years. The panel ia a reproduction of the fink that I painted on Eds casket. I've never painted it again ,but felt I should do one for her, since the origional will never be seen again. I wanted to get them done before this years reunion. Here is the results

I am going to have to stop coming to florida. I did a job on thursday, painted a Betty Boop on a 48 panel truck. turned out nice. On my way back to Judiths' the brake calliper on the driver side locked up. I had changed the one on the passenger side before I left and should have changed them both. I made it to judiths , picked up a caliper and changed it. Fixed?. Not so fast. Had to bleed the brakes, and I find a brake line leaking. Great!. I ended up at Lew and Agnes', again. Lew helped with tools and a hand in flairing a new brake line. Man when it rains!

Thanks again bud! then It's back to judiths. still have a job to do before i head north.

Wow, its a lot more fun to do this when its 90 degrees. 2 weeks ago i was knee deep in a snow drift.
The show went well nice weather. although Sunday the wind was pretty stiff. a big thank you to my bud Jim Bowers for hanging with me and helping talk to customers.
Joe,Bonnie, Don,and Kathy. Vanner friends I hang with at the show. Just got back from the chinese buffet. We was hungry. Thanks Don for haulin' us around.(you be heaa fooar howa, u go now) . ,One of the cool things about my job is that i get to work on some really kool cars. I did this 67 Chevelle in Orlando after the show and It was a pleasure to do such a nice car. Mike, the owner, is the origional owner, origionally from New York City. He has some real cool stories about the car ,including one about hauling Paul Newman to the store to get beer. I didnt get a picture of the big block .suffice to say it is show quality beautiful car! Thanks Mike
